From 23 to 25 April, 2018, over 7,000 participants gathered in two of the most fashionable media spaces of Moscow—Digital October and the October Event Hall—for Telling Stories Fest, a festival organized by the Faculty of Communications, Media, and Design of the National Research University—Higher School of Economics and the DPG Agency.
Telling Stories is an annual festival dedicated to ideas, innovation, and modern technologies. The name "Telling Stories" includes the main topic of the festival—storytelling through various media using the language of animation, cinema, and photography. What are these stories about? Who creates them, and to whom are they addressed? An extensive program of the festival, covering four thematic areas (communications, media, design, modern art) and over 60 events (lectures, talk-show programs, master classes, presentations, exhibition of works by young designers) was dedicated to answering these questions.
The most topical directions and trajectories of industrial development were represented by the chief executives of the world creative community. Among them: Darren Aronofsky, famous American film director; David Carson, American graphic designer; Oliviero Toscani, legendary Italian photographer; Lydia Cedrone; film producer and former executive of The Walt Disney Co., Trimark Pictures, and Savoy Pictures; Miren Arzalluz, curator of the Palais Galliera Museum of Fashion in Paris; and Georgiy Pinkhanov, the only Russian photographer related to the famous agency, Magnum.
DPG responsibilities included organization of the festival, partnership relations, and full-range advertising and information support.
